Kent Lennartsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ken Rutherford, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Diogo Yurin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Kent Lennartsson made a huge save. Ken Rutherford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kent Lennartsson having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Degerfors IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vilhelm Sigfridsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Diogo Yurin made a precise shot to the right of Kent Lennartsson. Degerfors IF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Erling Höijer notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of New England Minas's Raymond Hager. Raymond Hager was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, New England Minas's Diogo Yurin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diogo Yurin in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kent Lennartsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute New England Minas were awarded a corner. Parker Nance went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on New England Minas's corner Parker Nance fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kent Lennartsson quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Yurin in the 45th minute of play forced Degerfors IF's goalkeeper Kent Lennartsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Degerfors IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Enegren didn't get a good kick on the ball.

In the 53rd minute Per-Åke Kjellqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raymond Hager saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Degerfors IF's Kent Lennartsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Yurin in the 57th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Diogo Yurin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kent Lennartsson was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Degerfors IF defense, Parker Nance kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kent Lennartsson. The Degerfors IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kent Lennartsson should have stopped the shot. New England Minas's Raymond Hager proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save New England Minas from getting a goal against them. Degerfors IF's Kent Lennartsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diogo Yurin in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Degerfors IF's goal looked a bit too open when Desmond Randle came free, but Kent Lennartsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 84 minutes into the game, when Tod Mosley put in a rough tackle. After 85 played minutes New England Minas got a freekick which was hit by Tod Mosley. 89 minutes into the game, Adam Enegren recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raymond Hager. Adam Enegren showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-2. Degerfors IF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
