Spectators: 7756 (Terracing: 5819, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 154) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Epifanio Velasco took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes SiTomanBoy´s got a freekick which was hit by Milián Casanova. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind SiTomanBoy´s's goalkeeper José Alberto Sarfate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Club Universidad Nacional defense, Nereo Raposo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernando Abarca. The Club Universidad Nacional fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernando Abarca should have stopped the shot. José Alberto Sarfate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Epifanio Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Club Universidad Nacional's Oscar Lalla got a free kick in the 21st minute. Oscar Lalla took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Alberto Sarfate. José Alberto Sarfate dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 32nd minute Nereo Raposo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club Universidad Nacional's Zeledon Isusko got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Miquel Morales struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Fernando Abarca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SiTomanBoy´s. 46 minutes into the match, Club Universidad Nacional's goalkeeper Fernando Abarca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darío Brizuela. Epifanio Velasco's late challenge caught a SiTomanBoy´s's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Epifanio Velasco helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th match minute, Club Universidad Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Epifanio Velasco to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 52nd match minute, SiTomanBoy´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horacio Escalona to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute Darío Brizuela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Darío Brizuela made a precise shot to the right of Fernando Abarca. Club Universidad Nacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Fernando Belarmo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After 76 minutes, Nereo Raposo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SiTomanBoy´s and the Club Universidad Nacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SiTomanBoy´s's Nereo Raposo got a free kick in the 76th minute. Club Universidad Nacional's Gualterio Pio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 77th minute of play. The shot was stopped by José Alberto Sarfate but with some difficulty. In the 78th minute, Club Universidad Nacional's Epifanio Velasco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind José Alberto Sarfate. José Alberto Sarfate yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in SiTomanBoy´s's zone, Epifanio Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Alberto Sarfate came out of the goal and Epifanio Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Alberto Sarfate showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Lalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
