In the 21st minute Ladislao Sazon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manolo Ucero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes, Maurino Acedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PERSPOLIS and the The Cavern Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. Maurino Acedo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Tomás Iturri was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Benat Castelao hit a great ball. If Ladislao Sazon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Natal made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Demesio Coira sent off a good shot on target. Xuaco Otero hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After 65 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Ireno Cordoba. 68 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Manolo Ucero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ladislao Sazon. After a rather tough play, The Cavern Club's Tomás Iturri got a free kick in the 70th minute. Juan Natal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xuaco Otero in the 71st minute of the match. Manolo Ucero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Aballe in the 74th minute of play. Martín González kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After 75 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Xuaco Otero. After 78 minutes, Martín González mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Cavern Club and the PERSPOLIS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of PERSPOLIS booed when The Cavern Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martín González didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Aballe in the 83rd minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Manolo Ucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ladislao Sazon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ladislao Sazon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Manolo Ucero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Demesio Coira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Natal having to interfere. In the 95th play minute Ladislao Sazon came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Manolo Ucero. 1-3.
