After 4 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Asteri Vazquez. In the 8th minute, Xuaco Otero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Imperio Académico's Manolo Ucero threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aureliano Quirce, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Quirce in the 10th minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Manolo Ucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Imperio Académico defense, Xuaco Otero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gogo Gimenez. The Imperio Académico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gogo Gimenez should have stopped the shot. Leo Ondino charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Ondino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Leo Ondino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Genaro Segarra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gogo Gimenez. Imperio Académico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. PERSPOLIS's Demesio Coira got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gogo Gimenez came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by PERSPOLIS's Xuaco Otero. But to his dismay, Xuaco Otero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Demesio Coira in the 28th minute of play forced Imperio Académico's goalkeeper Gogo Gimenez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Imperio Académico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Genaro Segarra was slow to take the kick. During this time PERSPOLIS's players had a chance to rest. Xuaco Otero scored 1-3 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gogo Gimenez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With his leg Manolo Ucero managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Imperio Académico's Melchor Joachim fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, PERSPOLIS's Manolo Ucero got control of the ball when Melchor Joachim tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aureliano Quirce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aureliano Quirce to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Xuaco Otero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 54th minute Aureliano Quirce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manolo Ucero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Genaro Segarra during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, PERSPOLIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Segarra to maneuver through the defense. The PERSPOLIS fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when PERSPOLIS's Demesio Coira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Manolo Ucero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Quirce, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Genaro Segarra scored 1-5 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gogo Gimenez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Dodorol in the 77th minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Manolo Ucero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Osvaldo Dodorol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Imperio Académico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-5. 87 minutes into the game, Aureliano Quirce cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-5. Manolo Ucero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 90th minute, Eulalio Pitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Demesio Coira got free with Gogo Gimenez in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 93 played minutes Imperio Académico got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Pacorro.
