The supporters of La Bichineta booed when Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Ignazio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dito Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benedito Proença during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Cacá Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basilio Cugat went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score.

In the 59th match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Quintal to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's zone, Fabricio Silban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cacá Sousa came out of the goal and Fabricio Silban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cacá Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basilio Cugat in the 65th minute of play. In the 70th minute Diego Armando Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Ignazio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the game, Gonzalo Enaut cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Cacá Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cacá Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basilio Cugat in the 82nd minute of the match. Amado Ignazio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Armando Orange, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Flavinho Toscano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amado Ignazio, 2-1. Dito Rezende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Ignazio having to interfere. In the 96th match minute, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelio Orange to maneuver through the defense. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because La Bichineta had won, even though Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ had held more of the ball.
