The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fidel Rik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miroslav Mastiš, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 9th minute Peter Klempa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Rik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 minutes, Isidro Frans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ilulea FC and the FC Kukova players grew even worse after the yellow card. Isidro Frans hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. A collision led to Ilulea FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Leonardo Azibar hit a great ball. FC Kukova's Viktor Dolinec shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fidel Rik but with some difficulty. In the 23rd minute Stano Horáček shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Rik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leonardo Azibar during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Leonardo Azibar kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Ilulea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stano Horáček came free, but Fidel Rik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Vičan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fidel Rik came out and tried to block the shot, but Peter Vičan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. Václav Židek was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Quirze in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Kukova's goalkeeper Václav Židek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes FC Kukova got a freekick which was hit by Peter Klempa. 36 minutes into the match, FC Kukova's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Quirze came free, but Václav Židek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Václav Židek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilo Quirze in the 43rd minute of play. After 45 minutes FC Kukova's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Freddy Cordaryal who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Ivan Cordario got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Václav Židek quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Ilulea FC's Ivan Cordario, in the 45th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Ilulea FC. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After a rather tough play, Ilulea FC's Freddy Cordaryal got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The referee ignored Ilulea FC's protests and gave Anacleto Ignado a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Ilulea FC got a freekick which was hit by Anacleto Ignado. Václav Židek was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Valentin Lesardo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 93 minute of play. The Ilulea FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ilulea FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
