Tião Carneiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 10th minute, ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Tião Carneiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mauro Torne. Mauro Torne yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. ♞Sir Galahad FC♞ were furious when Marquinhos de Barros was red carded, 13 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 14th match minute, ♞Sir Galahad FC♞ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos de Barros to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Alarcón Mallavia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabinho Sanches narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Gabriel Gallego was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter de Guayaquil FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ♞Sir Galahad FC♞ the free kick. Romeu Romero kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when ♞Sir Galahad FC♞ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Leonardo Olazabal hit a great ball. Mauro Torne made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Jean Ferraz sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valiente Tebar in the 42nd minute of play forced ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s goalkeeper Fabinho Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 44th minute of the match Fernando Guedeja shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabinho Sanches showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fabinho Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Alfredo Guceño, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jean Ferraz was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Fernando Guedeja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Valiente Tebar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fabinho Sanches, 2-1. In the 58th minute, Carlos Eduardo Massa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Alarcón Mallavia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alarcón Mallavia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabinho Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64th minute, Jerson Casas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabinho Sanches. The goal made the score 2-2. After 72 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Guedeja. In the 73rd minute, Leonardo Olazabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabinho Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Guedeja in the 75th minute. Mauro Torne came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by ♞Sir Galahad FC♞'s Jean Ferraz. But to his dismay, Jean Ferraz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Fernando Guedeja hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tião Carneiro in the 87th minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Mauro Torne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Mellington Henao fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter de Guayaquil FC's protests and gave Mellington Henao a yellow card for diving instead.
