Aureliano Telesforo's late challenge caught a Sheriff's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aureliano Telesforo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute of the match Menios Barbagiannis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eulalio Casado skillfully saved the ball. After 18 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Alkis Bletsas. In the 23rd minute, Primitivo Abancens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Abancens in the 25th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Fondas Koufaliotis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grigoris Kasnakidis took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eulalio Casado. Eulalio Casado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Omiros Prikourakis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Casado having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grigoris Kasnakidis in the 32nd minute of play forced Lapachito's goalkeeper Eulalio Casado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jesus Tiso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fondas Koufaliotis having to interfere. Stefanos Vrettos got his second yellow card in the match during the 37th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roque Eudoxio in the 38th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Fondas Koufaliotis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Sheriff getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Menios Barbagiannis hit a great ball. The supporters of Lapachito booed when Sheriff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grigoris Kasnakidis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Primitivo Abancens to make the kick off. Eulalio Casado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grigoris Kasnakidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Jesus Tiso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fondas Koufaliotis. That made the score 1-1 in the 59 minute of play. Eulalio Casado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigoris Kasnakidis in the 64th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Thanos Nestorakos. 79 minutes into the match, Lapachito's goal looked a bit too open when Grigoris Kasnakidis came free, but Eulalio Casado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Alkis Bletsas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sheriff fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Lapachito's Nestor Marques was substituted for Primitivo Abancens. After 88 minutes, Grigoris Kasnakidis made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Lapachito's Eulalio Casado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nestor Marques during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sheriff booed when Lapachito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sheriff had won after a very even match.
