Deivid Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cactos's Deivid Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grigoris Kasnakidis in the 10th minute of play. A collision led to Cactos getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Aírton Leite hit a great ball. Sheriff's Fondas Koufaliotis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Sheriff from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Cactos getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Márcio Ceresso hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Cactos's goal looked a bit too open when Grigoris Kasnakidis came free, but Deivid Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Grigoris Kasnakidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deivid Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Cactos getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Amílton Paulista hit a great ball. Sheriff's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Aírton Leite scored to the left of an out of position Fondas Koufaliotis, making the score, 2-0.

Sheriff made a substitution. Stamatis Paspalakis replaced Omiros Prikourakis. After some careless play in the Sheriff defense, Kléberson Messias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fondas Koufaliotis. The Sheriff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fondas Koufaliotis should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aírton Leite in the 59th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Fondas Koufaliotis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefanos Vrettos got free with Deivid Rosa in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Deivid Rosa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stefanos Vrettos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 65 minute of play. Fondas Koufaliotis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diamantino Santos went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Fondas Koufaliotis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Leite in the 76th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cactos's Amílton Paulista got a free kick in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diamantino Santos in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fondas Koufaliotis saved Sheriff from getting behind. In the 83rd minute Diamantino Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fondas Koufaliotis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes of play, Cactos's Diamantino Santos made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fondas Koufaliotis was left in no man's land by his defense there! For all the effort they put into the match, the Sheriff players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cactos.
