Fortuna 86 Szczecin's Iwan Smolarek got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mihai Cismaș didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iwan Smolarek went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Fortuna 86 Szczecin's zone, Marcu Voitiş stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Janoško came out of the goal and Marcu Voitiş tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcin Dyczkowski charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcin Dyczkowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Fortuna 86 Szczecin getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Marcin Dyczkowski hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fortuna 86 Szczecin's zone, Marcu Voitiş stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Janoško came out of the goal and Marcu Voitiş tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cristian Moisil fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MIT Craiova's protests and gave Cristian Moisil a yellow card for diving instead. After 23 played minutes MIT Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Moisil. 26 minutes into the game, Iwan Smolarek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mihai Cismaș was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcu Voitiş who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Marian Janoško when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 31 played minutes MIT Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Pătrășconiu. Mihai Cismaș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wit Flis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Fortuna 86 Szczecin's Marian Janoško got control of the ball when Marcu Voitiş tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 34th match minute, MIT Craiova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Moisil to maneuver through the defense. The MIT Craiova players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Fortuna 86 Szczecin were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcu Voitiş made a kick off. Fortuna 86 Szczecin's Marian Janoško played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcu Voitiş in the 51st minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match Sergiu Taşcă shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marian Janoško showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marcin Dyczkowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Mihai Cismaș made a huge save. In the 63rdth minute of the game Marcu Voitiş who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fortuna 86 Szczecin's Marian Janoško was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Czeslaw Koperski in the 67th minute of play forced MIT Craiova's goalkeeper Mihai Cismaș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mihai Cismaș made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomil Czermak in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Marcel Pătrășconiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rareș Bîndean kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
