After 2 minutes of play, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Izaak Struik made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sigurd Haglund was left in no man's land by his defense there! Taco Zwartkruis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Espen Kielland in the 11th minute of the match. Dum Dum Boys Athletics's Sigurd Haglund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Kuijt in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Taco Zwartkruis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Sivertsen. The referee felt a red card was in order, 23 minutes into the game, when Kåre Muller put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dum Dum Boys Athletics fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Sigurd Haglund had in the 24thth minute some difficulties stopping Rien Bakker's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Dum Dum Boys Athletics's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Kuijt came free, but Sigurd Haglund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Julias Rascals Apeldoorn booed when Dum Dum Boys Athletics was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Erik Ottosen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Dum Dum Boys Athletics's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Kuijt came free, but Sigurd Haglund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 played minutes Dum Dum Boys Athletics got a freekick which was hit by Jack Ågotnes. The Julias Rascals Apeldoorn fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Santiago Kuijt looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Julias Rascals Apeldoorn were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Santiago Kuijt to strike the kick off in the second half. If Roelof van Kampen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 73 played minutes Dum Dum Boys Athletics got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Evanger. Sigurd Haglund made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Rien Bakker sent off a good shot on target. Sigurd Haglund was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Santiago Kuijt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Santiago Kuijt really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. In the 90thth minute of the game Santiago Kuijt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dum Dum Boys Athletics's Sigurd Haglund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Julias Rascals Apeldoorn supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Julias Rascals Apeldoorn would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
