Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucián Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 30 played minutes Colo-Colo got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Huaiquipan. 32 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés das Neves came free, but Salomone Comas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Colo-Colo's Salomone Comas got control of the ball when Moisés das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Nauzet Schorr had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Giovanni Motta made a kick off. In the 54th minute Lucián Berger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domenico Báez in the 63rd minute of play. Jenipapo SC's Dida Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domenico Báez in the 71st minute of play. Giovanni Motta scored 2-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Salomone Comas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Lucián Berger came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Colo-Colo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucián Berger couldn't finish the play. Domenico Báez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Dida Taffarel made a huge save. When José Pedro Coutinho came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Jenipapo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Pedro Coutinho couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Hugo Pappenheim during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Colo-Colo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jenipapo SC:s goal. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
