In the 3rd minute Júnior Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steff Caers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's goalkeeper João Fernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Simon Raedemaeckers. The crowd rose to their feet as Brugge United's Thommy Pelgrims slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Fernandez. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. 11 minutes into the match, Júnior Veloso notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Brugge United's Steff Caers. Steff Caers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Cedric Van den Berge hit a great ball. If Jochen Diericx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bebeto Sarmento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Brugge United's Steff Caers got control of the ball when Betão Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brugge United's Mark Wauters got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 66 minutes, Celso Maranhense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capivara FC and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. 68 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goalkeeper Steff Caers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Betão Pinheiro. Cedric Van den Berge charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cedric Van den Berge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Cedric Van den Berge. Steff Caers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júnior Veloso's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, Jan-Simon Raedemaeckers notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Capivara FC's João Fernandez. João Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Betão Pinheiro hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Steff Caers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Júnior Veloso in the 91st minute of the match. Jan-Simon Raedemaeckers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Fernandez having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Capivara FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
