One couldn't see Samuca Arruda behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. In the 6th match minute, Sport Lisboa e Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clark Gagnon to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Kirby Siegel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernard Scarpa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Brent Daigle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Samuca Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brent Daigle made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Bernard Scarpa sent off a good shot on target. 28 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s goal looked a bit too open when Mario Gleason came free, but Elói Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elói Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Gleason in the 29th minute of play. Elói Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirby Siegel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kiko Martins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Brent Daigle skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Sanford Descoteaux got a free kick in the 37th minute. Brent Daigle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernard Scarpa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clark Gagnon kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Galo na Veia FC™'s Rogério de Amorim got a free kick in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernard Scarpa to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 50th minute of the game. One of Sport Lisboa e Benfica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galo na Veia FC™:s goal. Bernard Scarpa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Brent Daigle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the game, Ferdinand Feuš was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galo na Veia FC™'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sport Lisboa e Benfica the free kick. Ferdinand Feuš hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Elói Medeiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Gleason in the 69th minute of the match. The supporters of Galo na Veia FC™ booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rueben Rosas didn't get a good kick on the ball.
