A collision led to Minho FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Isidoro Vilarinho hit a great ball. After 11 minutes of play, Academica Pulheim's Michael Paziorek made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jairo Calçada was left in no man's land by his defense there! Conny Stober received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Jairo Calçada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 37th play minutes Jari Anzengruber shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Jairo Calçada and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 41st minute, Otto Kuhn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Academica Pulheim were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alípio Gaspar was the one to do the kick off. After 50 minutes, Otto Kuhn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academica Pulheim and the Minho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Calçada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Jacek Thierse replaced Julius Mulack. Lisandro Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Lisandro Leite hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Minho FC's goalkeeper Jairo Calçada had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Noel Schaffert. Jerónimo Sabrosa charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerónimo Sabrosa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Minho FC's Jerónimo Sabrosa got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
