A collision led to Hahay getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Dariusz Opat hit a great ball. Zbyszek Pilipiec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jozef Ružinský in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of AFK Petržalka booed when Hahay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Noworolnik didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Hahay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFK Petržalka:s goal. Hahay:s Zbyszek Pilipiec showed great skill when he stopped Jozef Ružinský:s penalty. In the 26th match minute, Hahay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernard Drugi to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Peter Hvižďák got a free kick in the 29th minute. After 37 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Jozef Humeník. In the 40th minute Jozef Ružinský shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zbyszek Pilipiec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Glembin's late challenge caught a AFK Petržalka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Glembin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hahay getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Adam Glembin hit a great ball. Jozef Ružinský recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. AFK Petržalka's Jozef Ružinský got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the game, Waldemar Karbowski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hahay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFK Petržalka the free kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Noworolnik was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Peter Hvižďák got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jozef Ružinský got free with Zbyszek Pilipiec in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A throw-in in the 67th minute of the game was made by Bernard Drugi with Wit Jaszyna as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jozef Ružinský received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zbyszek Pilipiec came out and tried to block the shot, but Jozef Ružinský slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 71st minute. In the 74th minute, Roland Záhoran made a precise shot to the right of Zbyszek Pilipiec. Hahay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Hahay's Radowit Madajczyk was substituted for Waldemar Karbowski. With a little luck, Hahay's Zbyszek Pilipiec got control of the ball when Roland Záhoran tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 84 played minutes Jozef Ružinský rounded Hahay's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. After a rather tough play, Hahay's Radowit Madajczyk got a free kick in the 87th minute. The throw-in from Jozef Humeník in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Hahay's Daniel Janiczek. When Hahay's Dariusz Opat in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFK Petržalka's goalie prevented a goal.
