The crowd rose to their feet as CRUZ DEL SUR's Paco Cabedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcelo Bikendi. That made the score 2-0 after 29 minutes of play. In the 86th minute, Aureliano Frasquito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 87 played minutes, CRUZ DEL SUR's J.P. Cruz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelo Bikendi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CRUZ DEL SUR reached it. In the 92nd match minute, CRUZ DEL SUR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belmiro Peñaranda to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CRUZ DEL SUR fans cheered their team off the field, for while La Gallardeta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
