After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Cazimir Dijmărescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ares FC -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Cazimir Dijmărescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cazimir Dijmărescu got free with Wiliam Favoretto in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Horia Hulubei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ilie Ciociu scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wiliam Favoretto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 54th minute, Classe A Futebol Clube's Vito Mesquita seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vito Mesquita the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Classe A Futebol Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vito Mesquita had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Wiliam Favoretto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cazimir Dijmărescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Lucrețiu Gologan's late challenge caught a Classe A Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
