The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jagiellonia Denver's Eric Gary proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Jagiellonia Denver from getting a goal against them. Djurgården IF's Gar Pike played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá Čačak in the 6th minute of play. Eric Gary made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Nilsson in the 10th minute. Gar Pike showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michal Majdoch in the 13th minute of the match. Gar Pike showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Majdoch, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Michal Majdoch sped through Djurgården IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gar Pike. Djurgården IF's Gar Pike played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michal Majdoch in the 27th minute of play. After 30 minutes of play, Jagiellonia Denver's 蔡伟洲 made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gar Pike was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 33 minutes, Michal Majdoch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jagiellonia Denver's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michal Majdoch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cacá Čačak in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gar Pike saved Djurgården IF from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Nilsson in the 37th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Eric Gary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Gary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Lindkvist in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by 蔡伟洲 in the 45th minute of play forced Djurgården IF's goalkeeper Gar Pike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Gar Pike made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michal Majdoch in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Djurgården IF's Arvin Ljungberg got a free kick in the 68th minute. After 69 played minutes Djurgården IF got a freekick which was hit by Arvin Ljungberg. Michal Majdoch could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Gar Pike made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustav Ahlrot in the 74th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Eric Gary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 75th minute, Jagiellonia Denver's Per-Olof Åkesson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Per-Olof Åkesson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Jagiellonia Denver protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Per-Olof Åkesson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
