Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aureliano Ovando in the 2nd minute of play. In the 5th minute Aureliano Ovando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard de Almeida came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. BELGRANO's Aureliano Ovando. But to his dismay, Aureliano Ovando quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Ovando in the 11th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Peczkowski made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Paulão Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. C. A. BELGRANO's attentive Adolfo Guib managed to snatch the ball when Joaquim Koehler made a throw-in in the 18th minute of the game. 23 minutes into the game, Aureliano Ovando cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Edgard de Almeida was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Aureliano Ovando put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Edgard de Almeida. Paulão Medeiros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Edward Peczkowski made a huge save. C. A. BELGRANO's Edward Peczkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wally Lawson in the 34th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play, C. A. BELGRANO's Aureliano Ovando made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! Aureliano Ovando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Montesclarense E.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C. A. BELGRANO were winning 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aureliano Ovando made a kick off. When Paulão Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the Montesclarense E.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulão Medeiros couldn't finish the play. Edward Peczkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florian Patrylo struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Edward Peczkowski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. Montesclarense E.C.'s André Luís Schmidt was substituted for Paulão Medeiros. Montesclarense E.C. made a substitution. Roberto Melo replaced Jorge Sá. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazinho Barral in the 65th minute of play forced C. A. BELGRANO's goalkeeper Edward Peczkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BELGRANO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ernani Tavares ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ernani Tavares got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edward Peczkowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edgard de Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Joaquim Koehler threw the ball into play from the sideline. C. A. BELGRANO's Sixto Kaiet quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Edgard de Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amador Valente's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 85th minute, Ernani Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, José Alejandro Giménez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amancio Pinto might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edgard de Almeida. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amancio Pinto ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 90thth minute of the game Amador Valente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montesclarense E.C.'s Edgard de Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silvio Valerio kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Montesclarense E.C. lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
