Iker Casillas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saturnino Abeitia went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 13 played minutes Villa Gordiani got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Canzano. In the 16th match minute, Villa Gordiani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristoforo Flocco to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villa Gordiani's goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Villa Gordiani were furious when Cristoforo Flocco was red carded, 18 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Villa Gordiani:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Liberland:s goal. In the 20th match minute, Villa Gordiani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Esposito to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute Otang Irawan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Francisco Ixaka kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Villa Gordiani's Ove Bergman got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 minutes Liberland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Otang Irawan who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Ciro Esposito managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 36thth minute of the game Fabrizio Canzano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liberland's Vito Rezende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Rosio in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iker Casillas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Otang Irawan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Villa Gordiani getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Amos Ruggeri hit a great ball. When Fausto Vigil came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Liberland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fausto Vigil couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jacinto Rosio made a kick off. Liberland's Vito Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrizio Canzano in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Villa Gordiani booed when Liberland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Rosio didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Saturnino Abeitia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Rosio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Iker Casillas made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Villa Gordiani's Anfilogino Trombatore got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 67th match minute, Liberland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Rosio to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute Ciro Esposito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venancio Ascencio made a great header on Liberland's corner, it was just that Villa Gordiani's Iker Casillas managed to reach the ball for a save. 94 minutes into the game, Linus Blomqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villa Gordiani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liberland the free kick. 94 minutes into the game, one of Villa Gordiani:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 95 minutes, Liberland's Saturnino Abeitia got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Iker Casillas. The Villa Gordiani manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Liberland to win.
