The corner went over the outstretched arms of Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalie and right to Williams Ferrari. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Pogoń Stawiszyn's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 16th minute Kazimierz Dylla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerônimo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute of the match, Nando Pinho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gilbert Podolski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 21 minutes into the match, Nitra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kazimierz Dylla came free, but Jerônimo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Gilbert Podolski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nando Pinho. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Gilbert Podolski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan da Cunha in the 66th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Nitra FC's Nando Pinho got a free kick in the 67th minute. Wlodzimierz Resel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Jerônimo Maranhense skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Jonathan da Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan da Cunha in the 75th minute of play forced Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Gilbert Podolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Oliver Veentjer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gilbert Podolski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 83rd minute, Williams Ferrari left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nitra FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 90th minute Jonathan da Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Podolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute of the match Nitra FC got a corner. Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. After taking down the ball on Nitra FC's corner Oliver Veentjer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gilbert Podolski quite easily take care of the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
