Artur Pylyp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Pires having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Svyatoslav Krutyvus during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Svyatoslav Krutyvus hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 5 played minutes, Blue Tigers's Tymoteusz Frodyma shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gustavo Boldrini came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Blue Tigers reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Solak in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Boldrini saved FC Galicia Lviv from getting behind. In the 8th match minute, FC Galicia Lviv was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danylo Zayets to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, FC Galicia Lviv's goal looked a bit too open when Jerzy Tomporowski came free, but Gustavo Boldrini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Jerzy Tomporowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute, FC Galicia Lviv's Sergiy Loboyko ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reinaldo Pires. Reinaldo Pires yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerzy Tomporowski in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustavo Boldrini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Myroslav Akymenko made a precise shot to the right of Reinaldo Pires. Blue Tigers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerzy Tomporowski to make the kick off. Jerzy Tomporowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Gustavo Boldrini made a huge save. A collision led to FC Galicia Lviv getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Danylo Zayets hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Galicia Lviv's zone, Jerzy Tomporowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Boldrini came out of the goal and Jerzy Tomporowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jerzy Tomporowski got in the 72nd a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Gustavo Boldrini handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Jerzy Tomporowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergiy Loboyko in the 76th minute of play forced Blue Tigers's goalkeeper Reinaldo Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Pylyp might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reinaldo Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artur Pylyp ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of FC Galicia Lviv booed when Blue Tigers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wieslaw Fleszar didn't get a good kick on the ball.
