The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, The Skates's goalkeeper Jens-Ola Lund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anthony Muzzatti. 7 minutes into the match, Calatafimi Segesta's goal looked a bit too open when Gustav Hybbert came free, but Armando Buinton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ferdinando Aceto in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jens-Ola Lund saved The Skates from getting behind. Jens-Ola Lund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beppe Carrea in the 37th minute of play. Ragnar Biörling lost his temper 39 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Jens-Ola Lund had in the 41stth minute some difficulties stopping Anthony Muzzatti's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Cesare Berardi kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Christian Hedling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Armando Buinton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
Calatafimi Segesta's Concetto Spione was substituted for Ferdinando Aceto. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Hedling to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of The Skates booed when Calatafimi Segesta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anfilogino Burelli didn't get a good kick on the ball.
