Arne Åkerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco George, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Oliver Gallberg made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Alexandre Ponte ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Şenol Güneş was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Şenol Güneş stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Godholm's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that John Godholm's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şenol Güneş was relentless in the 57th minute of the game.
