In the 30th minute, Wilfredo Bieito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Ponte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Generoso Gonzalez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustavo-Hernán Egoi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arne Åkerberg. That made the score 2-1 in the 37 minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Pedro Ochoa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Ochoa to make the kick off. Pedro Ochoa took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arne Åkerberg. Arne Åkerberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Puskas United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jonatan Ivarsson in the 57th minute. Alexandre Ponte struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Generoso Gonzalez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puskas United. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo-Hernán Egoi in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Åkerberg saved Puskas United from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Gustavo-Hernán Egoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne Åkerberg was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's Bengt-Arne Åberg was substituted for Gustavo-Hernán Egoi. Bengt-Arne Åberg was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Many of Puskas United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Puskas United may have spent more time on the ball, but Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
