Şenol Güneş was a little too slow when Gustavo-Hernán Egoi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Rauno Rank hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo-Hernán Egoi got free with Şenol Güneş in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka were awarded a corner. Aaron Jokin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Sportivo Smirnoff Vodka's Cosme Mendebal getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Hermengildo Soin kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Generoso Gonzalez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco George, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Marco George cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Generoso Gonzalez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo-Hernán Egoi couldn't finish the play.
