When Vascogoianiense FC's Matheus Neto in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Romulo Arce stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matheus Neto's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Falcão de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romulo Arce having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Quinteros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romulo Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Tepedino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Quinteros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute Alexandre Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Tepedino might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romulo Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexandre Tepedino ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute, Aírton Sousa made a precise shot to the right of Romulo Arce. PI FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. PI FC's Camilo Bartolome was substituted for Israel Bittor. After 70 minutes PI FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aírton Sousa who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of PI FC's goalie and right to Falcão de Godoi. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. PI FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 73rd minute Aírton Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Vascogoianiense FC booed when PI FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Justin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vascogoianiense FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaspar Luke during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, PI FC's Gaspar Luke got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 97 minutes into the match, PI FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Pirani came free, but Romulo Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Vascogoianiense FC fully deserved thier win.
