Nelson Haedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lazar Milosavljević read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alfredo Aguilar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perica Masanović in the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Club Olimpia's Nelson Haedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lazar Milosavljević narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Faustino Ortle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
