LUIZ PANATO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Pyrzyce got free with Guto Taffarel in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aki Guardo to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Qiu Ling Lang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Tomaszewski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 65 played minutes LUIZ PANATO got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Cardozo. Guto Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Qiu Ling Lang, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Zielonka Gdansk fully deserved thier win.
