In the 3rd minute Gösta Söderberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Slawomir Michalski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Slawomir Michalski came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Hammarby IF's Celedonio Dominguez. But to his dismay, Celedonio Dominguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 7th minute of play forced Stone City's goalkeeper Slawomir Michalski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Hammarby IF's Blanco Mera seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Blanco Mera the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Hammarby IF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Blanco Mera had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Hammarby IF booed when Stone City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atilio Romagnoli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Holger Vester stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aras Görkem Özbey's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Kaj Björklund hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Holger Vester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trond Soltveit in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute Aras Görkem Özbey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Aras Görkem Özbey came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celedonio Dominguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slawomir Michalski having to interfere. Stone City's Slawomir Michalski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gösta Söderberg in the 34th minute of play. Slawomir Michalski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silas Duarte in the 35th minute of the match. The Stone City fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Stone City's Aras Görkem Özbey looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Marcelo Fero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stone City's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Fero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Holger Vester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 45 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Trond Soltveit came free, but Holger Vester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
After 55 minutes, Atilio Romagnoli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stone City and the Hammarby IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Atilio Romagnoli kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Slawomir Michalski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gösta Söderberg in the 57th minute of the match. Isaltino Paes made a great header on Hammarby IF's corner, it was just that Stone City's Slawomir Michalski managed to reach the ball for a save. After 63 played minutes Stone City got a freekick which was hit by Aras Görkem Özbey. Stone City's Marco Peru was substituted for Atilio Romagnoli. Stone City made a substitution. Julio Gomez replaced Trond Soltveit. Stone City's Víctor Franco was substituted for Carlitos Tevez. In the 64th match minute, Stone City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aras Görkem Özbey to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Víctor Franco in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Holger Vester saved Hammarby IF from getting behind. Holger Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víctor Franco in the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Inocencio Matteo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Holger Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Gomez, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Hammarby IF's Holger Vester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aras Görkem Özbey in the 81st minute of play. Gösta Söderberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Slawomir Michalski having to interfere. Holger Vester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aras Görkem Özbey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the game, Stone City's Aras Görkem Özbey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Holger Vester made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 93rd minute Julio Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Holger Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stone City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
