The supporters of The Cavern Club booed when Club Deportivo Diagüita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Desiderio Jurado didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Richard Nixon took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Bengt Hedlund to make any attempt to save it. 37 minutes into the match, Richard Nixon notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Club Deportivo Diagüita's Bengt Hedlund. Bengt Hedlund was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Richard Nixon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The Cavern Club's Geovani Mendonça was substituted for Richard Nixon. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Geovani Mendonça sped through Club Deportivo Diagüita's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bengt Hedlund. The audience was convinced that Geovani Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bengt Hedlund was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game.
