Iwan Dziuma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedicto Atarratze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Heide FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Abid Bubalo was slow to take the kick. During this time Selebi-Phikwe's players had a chance to rest. If Abid Bubalo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Abid Bubalo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christof Deroek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lázaro Prestes in the 28th minute. Benedicto Atarratze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Heide FC's Lázaro Prestes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christof Deroek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Victor Nelson made in the 42nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Benedicto Atarratze immediately put the ball in play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Benedicto Atarratze made the kick off in the second half. Iwan Dziuma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedicto Atarratze, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Rafik Oliwa hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Christof Deroek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lázaro Prestes in the 57th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Selebi-Phikwe got a freekick which was hit by Victor Nelson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Prestes in the 65th minute of play forced Selebi-Phikwe's goalkeeper Christof Deroek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Benedicto Atarratze kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iwan Dziuma. That made the score 0-1 in the 69 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benedicto Atarratze in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iwan Dziuma saved Heide FC from getting behind. Heide FC's Iwan Dziuma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Heide FC from getting a goal against them. Selebi-Phikwe made a substitution. Christof Deroek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Prestes in the 84th minute of the match. In the 86th match minute, Heide FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Cléberson Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Dziuma having to interfere. Iwan Dziuma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cléberson Neves in the 93rd minute. Lázaro Prestes struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Christof Deroek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heide FC. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Selebi-Phikwe eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
