An unexpectedly hard shot by Ercole Fiorentino in the 4th minute of play forced FC Hans's goalkeeper Timmy Kjellkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Hans's Timmy Kjellkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Bottone in the 7th minute of play. Timmy Kjellkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Fiorentino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viorel Moldovan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvaro Rotili having to make a save. Viorel Moldovan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Alvaro Rotili made a huge save. Timmy Kjellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Bottone in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, FC Hans's goal looked a bit too open when Ercole Fiorentino came free, but Timmy Kjellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 26 minutes, Viorel Moldovan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Udinese's Edmondo Giorda got a free kick in the 38th minute. A collision led to FC Hans getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Dan Waller hit a great ball. In the 40th minute Alberigo Di Franco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timmy Kjellkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erland Norberg was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 42 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the game, one of FC Hans:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave A.S. Udinese a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alexander Bottone, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Hans's Timmy Kjellkvist. 0-1.

A.S. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was substituted for Ercole Fiorentino. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Firman Morientes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
