Leonel Cefero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brent-Jan Turpin, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Gerardo Abeitia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chamaicó fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brent-Jan Turpin in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leonel Cefero saved Chamaicó from getting behind. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chamaicó's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leovigildo Abumohor was slow to take the kick. During this time El Eterno Campeón's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Leovigildo Abumohor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonel Cefero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The El Eterno Campeón players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chamaicó were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brent-Jan Turpin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match El Eterno Campeón got a corner. Chamaicó's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leovigildo Abumohor ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 54th minute of the match, Gerardo Abeitia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ruslan Reichl saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 55 minutes into the match, Chamaicó's goal looked a bit too open when Constancio Binder came free, but Leonel Cefero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 minutes, Leovigildo Abumohor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Eterno Campeón and the Chamaicó players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 minutes of play El Eterno Campeón's Yerko Staff was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 95 played minutes El Eterno Campeón got a freekick which was hit by Yerko Staff. Dalmacio Llorian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Ruslan Reichl made a huge save. Chamaicó's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
