The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fred Åkerström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fredrik Stokland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pianello del Lario FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sandu Mândrilă was slow to take the kick. During this time Playa Malvín's players had a chance to rest. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petre Simionescu in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute Rigoberto Lain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Roberto Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Åkerström might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fredrik Stokland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fred Åkerström ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Pianello del Lario FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Lorenzo Dimo hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fred Åkerström in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fredrik Stokland saved Pianello del Lario FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augeias Roussos in the 32nd minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fredrik Stokland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Pianello del Lario FC got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Dimo. In the 45th minute, Fred Åkerström made a precise shot to the right of Fredrik Stokland. Pianello del Lario FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Playa Malvín were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pianello del Lario FC made a substitution. Teobaldo Ermano replaced Petre Simionescu. The wind increased when Rodolfo Porfirio made the kick off in the second half. Fred Åkerström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Stokland having to interfere. Fred Åkerström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Fred Åkerström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Fredrik Stokland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pianello del Lario FC's Paolo Balendin was substituted for Ciro Quin. In the 75th minute Playa Malvín were awarded a corner. Sesuldo Roque went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Sesuldo Roque almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pianello del Lario FC's Fredrik Stokland did a great save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenzo Dimo during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pianello del Lario FC's Fredrik Stokland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niva Espellosa in the 90th minute of play. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Niva Espellosa took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fredrik Stokland. Fredrik Stokland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The Pianello del Lario FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Playa Malvín's performance. The match ended with a win for Playa Malvín.
