Luis Bonet scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Roberto Teixeira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fred Åkerström came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Playa Malvín fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Åkerström couldn't finish the play. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Bonet in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Daustad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Luc Dehaene to maneuver through the defense. Daustad's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mats Bentsen in the 25th minute. The corner ended in Luis Bonet almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira did a great save. If Fred Åkerström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 35 minutes of play, Playa Malvín's Fred Åkerström made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jo Øverås was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44thth minute of the game Fred Åkerström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Daustad's Jo Øverås was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fred Åkerström was the one to do the kick off. Luis Bonet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Teixeira having to interfere. Mieszko Pilsudski hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Playa Malvín's Niva Espellosa was substituted for Fred Åkerström. In the 65th minute, Jean-Luc Dehaene hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niva Espellosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jo Øverås having to make a save. Jo Øverås took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niva Espellosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th match minute, Playa Malvín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sesuldo Roque to maneuver through the defense. Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Playa Malvín from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Bonet in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Roberto Teixeira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Playa Malvín's Niva Espellosa in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Daustad's goalie prevented a goal. In the 87thth minute of the game Niva Espellosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Daustad's Jo Øverås was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Teofil Chrzan got a free kick in the 91st minute. Daustad's Pelle Anundsson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Zuberoa Artiaga in the 94 minute of the game. The Daustad supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Daustad would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
