Fahad Al Hammady blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Doriva Quadros having to make a save. In the 17th minute, Horbury ACS's Hassan Al Homaithe ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Doriva Quadros. Doriva Quadros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Ammar Al Qatam put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Horbury ACS getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Ammar Al Qatam hit a great ball. The supporters of Retrô Recife AD booed when Horbury ACS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hassan Al Homaithe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Retrô Recife AD's Gil Albuquerque broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Olívio Lara took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Masuod Al Fadhalah. Masuod Al Fadhalah dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fahad Al Hammady to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Horbury ACS's Masuod Al Fadhalah got control of the ball when Hélder Bastos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 52 minutes into the game, Retrô Recife AD's Vitório Carneiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Masuod Al Fadhalah made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After having played for 58 minutes, Bebeto Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Doriva Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fahad Al Hammady in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Salles in the 70th minute of play forced Horbury ACS's goalkeeper Masuod Al Fadhalah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 played minutes Horbury ACS got a freekick which was hit by Yazeed Al Dowaisan. With a little luck, Horbury ACS's Masuod Al Fadhalah got control of the ball when Gil Albuquerque tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Horbury ACS defense, Bebeto Pinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Masuod Al Fadhalah. The Horbury ACS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Masuod Al Fadhalah should have stopped the shot. Horbury ACS's Masuod Al Fadhalah played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olívio Lara in the 79th minute of play. Hélder Bastos's late challenge caught a Horbury ACS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélder Bastos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, Retrô Recife AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Bastos to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Horbury ACS's Hassan Al Homaithe got a free kick in the 84th minute. Bebeto Pinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Masuod Al Fadhalah made a huge save.
