Kazimierz Lenertej hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Bebeto Pinho scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gwidon Luty, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gwidon Luty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bebeto Pinho in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of PKS Gliwice booed when Retrô Recife AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton de Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. PKS Gliwice's Krzysztof Fikus shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Doriva Quadros but with some difficulty. When Hélder Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Retrô Recife AD's protests and gave Hélder Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. Gwidon Luty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Salles in the 37th minute of play. Fausto Salles scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gwidon Luty, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chicão Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chicão Damião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chicão Damião hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Doriva Quadros was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Krzysztof Fikus. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fausto Salles to strike the kick off in the second half. Doriva Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wincent Osielski, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the game, Dobromir Purzycki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Doriva Quadros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Wincent Osielski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 65 played minutes Retrô Recife AD got a freekick which was hit by Bebeto Pinho. 68 minutes into the match, Wincent Osielski notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Retrô Recife AD's Doriva Quadros. Doriva Quadros was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Doriva Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wincent Osielski, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute, Kajetan Tepper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Fausto Salles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gwidon Luty. That made the score 2-3 in the 81 minute of play. Wincent Osielski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Olívio Lara's late challenge caught a PKS Gliwice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olívio Lara helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Retrô Recife AD's Olívio Lara got a free kick in the 89th minute. Doriva Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wincent Osielski in the 91st minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Retrô Recife AD had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
