The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugenio Tiso during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eugenio Tiso kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severino Armiñan in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Gabon saved Medellín AFC from getting behind. In the 20th minute of the match Esteve Ishmael sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benicio Tapia skillfully saved the ball. Benicio Tapia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafino Casomiro in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernabe Divaichin in the 26th minute of play forced Medellín AFC's goalkeeper Martin Gabon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benicio Tapia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafino Casomiro went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 33rd minute, Wilfredo Alamon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nueva Esparta FC's goalkeeper Benicio Tapia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martin Gabon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernabe Divaichin in the 36th minute of the match. Medellín AFC's Martin Gabon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Medellín AFC from getting a goal against them. If Bernabe Divaichin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Medellín AFC defense, Severino Armiñan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Gabon. The Medellín AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Gabon should have stopped the shot. After 42 minutes of play, Medellín AFC's Serafino Casomiro made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benicio Tapia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Serafino Casomiro struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Benicio Tapia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Medellín AFC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serafino Casomiro made a kick off. If Melchor Fidensio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafino Casomiro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-4 to the left of a surprised Benicio Tapia 56 minutes into the match. Melchor Fidensio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Benicio Tapia managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Medellín AFC's Serafino Casomiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Serafino Casomiros short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Benicio Tapia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Benicio Tapia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Melchor Fidensio in the 66th minute. Severino Armiñan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Martin Gabon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benicio Tapia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Casomiro in the 71st minute of play. Laffitte Rabanera hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. When Serafino Casomiro came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Medellín AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Serafino Casomiro couldn't finish the play. Martin Gabon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Nueva Esparta FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Laffitte Rabanera hit a great ball. Benicio Tapia had great luck who in the 89thth minute grab hold of the ball when Serafino Casomiro from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Benicio Tapia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafino Casomiro's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serafino Casomiro in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benicio Tapia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Medellín AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
