Neil Pierre started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Malakas FC's Dudley Davila got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Landon Puckett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Stayton, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Nat Langsford might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Landon Puckett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nat Langsford ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Southampton getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Daniel Reading hit a great ball. Martin Wilson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neil Pierre, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Nat Langsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes in the game, Jack Stayton fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Landon Puckett having to interfere. If Nat Langsford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Malakas FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Dudley Davila hit a great ball. Martin Wilson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blaine Tyler in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Jools Denham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute, Blaine Tyler left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malakas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, Malakas FC's Grady Snider got a free kick in the 35th minute. Dudley Davila hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Malakas FC's Landon Puckett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jack Stayton in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Jools Denham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Southampton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malakas FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Southampton's Jools Denham got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Blaine Tyler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Wilson having to interfere. Daniel Reading's late challenge caught a Malakas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Reading helped the player get up and apologised. Daniel Reading kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Monroe Gates took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Martin Wilson. Southampton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half Malakas FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jack Stayton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Pierre in the 56th minute of play forced Southampton's goalkeeper Martin Wilson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jack Stayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Landon Puckett having to interfere. When Monroe Gates fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malakas FC's protests and gave Monroe Gates a yellow card for diving instead. 65 minutes into the game, one of Malakas FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 67th minute there was a penalty for Southampton. Ash Toovey stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Landon Puckett. 2-1. Nat Langsford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 71 in the game by Blaine Tyler from a close distance when the talented Martin Wilson managed to make a qualified save. Southampton's players were relieved. Dudley Davila charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dudley Davila the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Southampton booed when Malakas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudley Davila didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Blaine Tyler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Martin Wilson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Daniel Reading got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 93 played minutes Southampton got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Reading. The corner ended in Monroe Gates almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Southampton's Martin Wilson did a great save. The supporters of Southampton booed when Malakas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dudley Davila didn't get a good kick on the ball.
