Dida Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s Wang Guang Wei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Luís da Rocha made in the 26th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which German Cano however managed to control. Nestor Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Anthon Mellbad made a precise shot to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Garnier Rusterholz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Alfredo Martins who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s Garnier Rusterholz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute of the match, Wang Guang Wei got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dida Taffarel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anthon Mellbad was the one to do the kick off.
