Herbie Sikalopoulos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugênio Teles having to make a save. Eugênio Teles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herbie Sikalopoulos's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 40 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo Marquez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbie Sikalopoulos in the 45th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Eugênio Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SORRISO E. C.'s zone, Herbie Sikalopoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugênio Teles came out of the goal and Herbie Sikalopoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Balaban Orcaner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Herbie Sikalopoulos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugênio Teles was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugênio Teles should have stopped the shot. Eugênio Teles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Başaran Kuvvet, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 92 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gürkan Akaydın came free, but Eugênio Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gürkan Akaydın took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugênio Teles. Eugênio Teles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Black Cloud FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
