In the 16th minute, Victorino Merexildo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan Israel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Alonzo Etxepare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guus Schophuis in the 20th minute of play. Tomas Benitez kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Alonzo Etxepare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinant van Zwam in the 28th minute of the match. Jan Israel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Merexildo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victorino Merexildo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Israel having to make a save. Richard Raatjes hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victorino Merexildo got free with Jan Israel in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute, Bernard Bakker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Victorino Merexildo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan Israel. SAFA United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victorino Merexildo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 46 minutes into the match, SAFA United's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Barros came free, but Jan Israel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferdinant van Zwam to make the kick off. Alonzo Etxepare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinant van Zwam in the 56th minute of play. Victorino Merexildo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Israel having to interfere. Victorino Merexildo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferdinant van Zwam kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Victorino Merexildo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Jan Israel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Victorino Merexildo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Los Xeneises FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Ernesto Barros hit a great ball. Koen Waterman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Alonzo Etxepare when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With 84 minutes on the clock, Matias Sagrario commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 84 minutes into the game, one of Los Xeneises FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 86 minutes, SAFA United's Willem Daniels got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Alonzo Etxepare. Jan Israel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Barros in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Los Xeneises FC's Victorino Merexildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Israel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Ronald Hofman managed to get in a good position for a shot. SAFA United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Hofman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alonzo Etxepare breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
