A collision led to Recife Pe getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. José Carlos Pontes hit a great ball. Abelardo Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Berger having to interfere. Tomás Berger came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Cercadinho's Valiente Venezian. But to his dismay, Valiente Venezian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 11th minute, Valiente Venezian made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Berger. Recife Pe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of Recife Pe booed when Cercadinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor da Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Abelardo Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cercadinho's Ricardinho Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomás Berger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abelardo Bertassi's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Cercadinho's Abelardo Bertassi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomás Berger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Recife Pe's goalkeeper Tomás Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Valiente Venezian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Tomás Berger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 32 minutes of play, Cercadinho's Abelardo Bertassi made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomás Berger was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardinho Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Berger having to interfere. After having played for 37 minutes, Abelardo Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cercadinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomás Berger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abelardo Bertassi went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 45th minute, Valiente Venezian made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Berger. Recife Pe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

In the 51st match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardinho Sousa to maneuver through the defense. 53 minutes into the game, Ademar Prado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 63rd match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Cercadinho's Enrique Gerber was substituted for Vítor da Silveira. 70 minutes into the match, Benedito Silva notched a goal, 1-8, to the right of Cercadinho's Orest Komissarov. Orest Komissarov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cercadinho made a substitution. William de Castro replaced Abelardo Bertassi. William de Castro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tomás Berger came out and tried to block the shot, but William de Castro slotted it home off the left post making it 1-9 in the 84th minute. In the 90th match minute, Cercadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fernando Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Luís Fernando Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cercadinho's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
