Paolo Caradaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Christoph Beckert hit a great ball. If Marcos Berdoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pankracy Glogowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 37th minute of the match. August Hoffmanns stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Şevket Çağa's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şevket Çağa in the 44th minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45thth minute of the game Şevket Çağa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

In the 53rd minute, Udo Käppeler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Hermengildo Erroman hit a great ball. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Berdoi in the 59th minute of play. After 60 minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emil Chwalkiewicz who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Anselmo Nevada heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 63 minutes into the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Club Atlético Atlanta's Pankracy Glogowski. Pankracy Glogowski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Şevket Çağa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. August Hoffmanns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Paolo Caradaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Maximilian Henning managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximilian Henning was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pankracy Glogowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Berdoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paolo Caradaro in the 77th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Anestis Kotsopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pankracy Glogowski. Club Atlético Atlanta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anestis Kotsopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pankracy Glogowski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Şevket Çağa notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns. August Hoffmanns was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The long shot by Lázaro Cuartio in the 88th minute really tested August Hoffmanns's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Şevket Çağa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximilian Henning in the 91st minute of play. Şevket Çağa in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of August Hoffmanns, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Pankracy Glogowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Haupt in the 94th minute of play. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Udo Käppeler hit a great ball. Emil Chwalkiewicz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hoffmanns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Despite being the better team, Club Atlético Atlanta failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
