After a defensive mix-up in Cuevas's zone, Durval Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeo Joey came out of the goal and Durval Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Durval Miranda struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Tadeo Joey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Corinthians. Cristian Sanduru received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ismael de Barros came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sanduru slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Tadeo Joey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Cerezo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 13th minute, Luciano Cerezo made a precise shot to the right of Tadeo Joey. Cuevas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Tadeo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Andrade in the 19th minute of the match. Ismael de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Quentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luciano Cerezo in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tadeo Joey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Durval Miranda scored 1-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tadeo Joey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardo Ruy kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Jânio Zanette was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuevas the free kick. Tadeo Joey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Miranda in the 53rd minute of play forced Cuevas's goalkeeper Tadeo Joey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Durval Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durval Miranda couldn't finish the play. Durval Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cuevas's Tadeo Joey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval Miranda in the 64th minute of play. Tadeo Joey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Durval Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maicon Domingues was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 69 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cuevas booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Corinthians fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Cuevas. Tadeo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Andrade in the 84th minute of play. After 88 minutes of play, Cuevas's Benjamin Estevon made it 4-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ismael de Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! 92 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Estevon came free, but Ismael de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adelino Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeo Joey having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Cuevas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicasio Tajo to maneuver through the defense. Tadeo Joey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Miranda in the 98th minute of the match.
