The UD Rubi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Millán Losada should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amador Rienda in the 18th minute of play forced Espejeras's goalkeeper Neto Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for UD Rubi! Justino Rajoi shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 26th minute, Belmiro Ponce De Leon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The UD Rubi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Belmiro Ponce De Leon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Neto Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute of the match Justino Rajoi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Millán Losada skillfully saved the ball. Justino Rajoi's late challenge caught a UD Rubi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justino Rajoi helped the player get up and apologised. Amador Rienda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Eduardo Tarin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espejeras's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Tarin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Millán Losada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Millán Losada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Tarin, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Lastur Sobrado kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Eduardo Tarin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Espejeras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amador Rienda made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Amador Rienda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neto Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belmiro Ponce De Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neto Torres having to interfere. Amador Rienda might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Neto Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amador Rienda ran back to his position shaking his head. If Toño Esteban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeo Bargas's late challenge caught a Espejeras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Toño Esteban recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Millán Losada made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Eduardo Tarin sent off a good shot on target. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind UD Rubi's goalkeeper Millán Losada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Espejeras eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
