Mark Rohde came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ferdia Gough could save by the left post. Lugdoon's Finn Cooney quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Raiko Rapps, made in the 21st minute of the game. In the 21st minute, Finn Cooney got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lugdoon's goalkeeper Ferdia Gough, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karel Bittcher in the 25th minute of play forced Lugdoon's goalkeeper Ferdia Gough to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Uwe Degener fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Lugdoon's Garrett Robinson got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute Uwe Degener shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdia Gough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Mark Rohde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Trio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Rohde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Banon Ryan in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klaus-Dieter Heisters saved FC Trio from getting behind. Ferdia Gough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karel Bittcher, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 45 minutes of play Lugdoon's Patty McBjarton was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 46 played minutes Lugdoon got a freekick which was hit by Patty McBjarton. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Banon Ryan to make the kick off. With his leg Klaus-Dieter Heisters managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Lugdoon's Banon Ryan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Karel Bittcher was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After some careless play in the FC Trio defense, Banon Ryan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Klaus-Dieter Heisters. The FC Trio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Klaus-Dieter Heisters should have stopped the shot. After 62 minutes, Finn Cooney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lugdoon and the FC Trio players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 62nd match minute, Lugdoon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Finn Cooney to maneuver through the defense. Uwe Degener fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdia Gough having to interfere. The supporters of Lugdoon booed when FC Trio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Rohde didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Mark Rohde managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Trio's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Rohde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferdia Gough breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Lugdoon defense, Curt Schuber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ferdia Gough. The Lugdoon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ferdia Gough should have stopped the shot. Lugdoon's Ryley McWillie managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Raiko Rapps in the 75 minute of the game. Curt Schuber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdia Gough having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Mark Rohde managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Trio's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Rohde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferdia Gough breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Curt Schuber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdia Gough having to interfere. In the 90th minute of the game, Edwin Caffrey landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Raiko Rapps's late challenge caught a Lugdoon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raiko Rapps helped the player get up and apologised. Raiko Rapps hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Ferdia Gough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Rohde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Mark Rohde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdia Gough saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The FC Trio manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Lugdoon to win.
