After 26 minutes, Diego Sanson made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Cañani OFF's Valentin Magdaleno tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 31 minutes into the match, Club Universidad Nacional's goalkeeper Fernando Abarca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Salomone. Rodolfo Abeijon hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Gualterio Pio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Universidad Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gualterio Pio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diego Sanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Teodosio Sendoa charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in Cañani OFF's zone, Diego Sanson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Magdaleno came out of the goal and Diego Sanson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 70th match minute, Club Universidad Nacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodosio Sendoa to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cañani OFF getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Silverio Urtsin hit a great ball. Valentin Magdaleno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Sanson in the 74th minute of the match. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cañani OFF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gualterio Pio was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Universidad Nacional's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Club Universidad Nacional's Arturo Santikurtz to fire away a dangerous shot which Valentin Magdaleno despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Diego Sanson scored 1-3 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valentin Magdaleno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Cañani OFF's Valentin Magdaleno got control of the ball when Oscar Lalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Club Universidad Nacional's Teodosio Sendoa got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Club Universidad Nacional players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
